Our Philosophy
Welcome to Mr Tim’s Classroom. For over 2 decades, we have been educating students and partnering with parents across Sydney, and more recently internationally via the Online reach of our tutoring programs and services. We specialise in literacy development and test preparation programs for primary school students. Our goal is simple - provide the highest standard of teaching utilising the very latest teaching methodologies and material.
Owned and operated by educators, Mr Tim’s Classroom understands that children learn best in an engaging, nurturing and highly interactive environment. We offer no gimmicks, shallow promises, or learning hacks. Success in the classroom is achieved when students are encouraged to interact with learning content under the watchful eye and direction of a skilled teacher.

Engage
Engagement is the degree of attention, curiosity, interest, optimism, and passion that students show when they are learning or being taught. Without engagement, students are not motivated to interact with the content. We engage our students with a variety of techniques and teaching strategies to maximise their learning experience.
Think
It may sound obvious, but children need to ‘think’ to learn. ‘Thinking’ involves solving problems, inferring meaning, predicting, reasoning, sequencing, and other higher order thinking skills. Mr Tim’s Classroom specialises in teaching children to think and incorporates these strategies across its courses. Strictly rote learning classes that do not encourage ‘thinking’ are of limited value in the long run.
Learn
In psychological terms, ‘learning’ is often defined as a relatively permanent change in behaviour, knowledge and thinking skills as a result of experience. Our goal is to ensure all our students learn and achieve the outcomes of our programs via intentional and strategic educational interventions. The ‘experience’ of education facilitates learning.
